Young Coach. The reason why lefties look smoother is 3 fold:

1. Pure chance (they are just special/different which is why there are few of them than righties.)

2. Because of their running start or finish toward the first base side, the transission to first base looks more natural in its finish.

3. Because it is a righthand world, lefthanders have had to work harder to overcome the difference. This evolves into a more natural look through more repetition.

I even believe it is applicable to players who are switch hitters or players converted to lefthanders.
