It is extremely difficult to become a McGwire, Griffey, or Sosa. The goal is to work with what you have. You're right, if you're a Pat Burrell type of hitter, by all means crush the ball, but if you're a let's say Bret Boone you are wasting your time.

That's baloney (no offense.) The common belief is that little guys can't hit for power. I'm here to tell ya, it's NOT true. Good mechanics and proper training can make a pretty good power hitter out of some very questionable material. I've seen it!! (one kid I trained weighed 140 lbs. but developed the ability to hit 400+ shots routinely.) It's ALL about batspeed.
