It is true that linear mechanics are detrimental and that rotational forces produce the maximum output with minimum effort. The back and forth discussions with Steve had to do with the possibility that what steve said could be true, that being, that a single is not as good as a homerun and that even questionable talent and size can hit with much power. The fountainhead of the discussion was that of the sweet spot...but we deviated well from that subject. As for your article, I believe that what you said is mostly true. Coaches are too lazy to teach proper technique, but genetics are important too.
