lift on swing

my son is 15 and hit his for a good average but little power. Upon videotaping his swing- he seems to initially drop the barrel a bit to get on plane with a pitch and then he lifts the body and swing (finishes high)and appears to glide forward on the front hip instead of staying back. Upon swing conclusion he is standing erect and looks more like a golf swing finish
