I was hoping jack would answer your question .because I noticed that on the outside pitch I also have to use tophand torque and have to rotate the the tophand forearm to hit the outside pitch with any authority . the hands take a wider path on the outside pitch.as far as the shoulders rotating I believe even on the outside pitch the have to rotate until contact .it just that on the outside the batter has to let the ball get deeper and make contact with the ball closer to the catcher then he does on the inside pitch .so for me to hit outside pitch it feels like you take a wide hand path let the ball get deeper and the shoulders should nt rotate as much as they do on the insude pitch.
