back foot on the ground vs. back foot off the ground (at the P O C)

Posted by: Yohan (lgtwins23@yahoo.com) on Thu Dec 8 14:24:10 2011

As we all see great hitter like Albert Pujols, Miguel Cabrera, Ken Griffey Jr, Chipper Jones, Barry Bonds, and others do have something in common: their back foot is off the ground at the P O C. But other great hitters from other side of the world has their back foot on the ground at the P O C. Is there huge difference between the two?

Here are some clips on great hitters from other side of the world:

Here are some Left-Handed hitters:

Here are some Right-Handed Hitters:
Takeshi Yamasaki (1st & 3rd baseman)

(Yamasaki's HRs when he played for Rakuten Golden Eagles)

Kazuhiro Kiyohara (1st & 3rd baseman)

(Kiyohara Kazuhiro's highlights. He retired after 2008 season.)

Alex Ramirez (LF)

(Played for Yakult Swallows and then Yomiuri Giants. His back foot comes off the ground later in his career but after that time frame.)

So, Is there huge difference between back foot is off the ground vs. on the ground?
