is it me or do rotional mechanics make it seem as if you dont have great bat speed but in reallty you do. it seems that im not swinging hard but the ball is really going far.

Hi Kay.

It seems as if you have embarked upon a kinesthetically-registered observation that was brought to light through empirical observation. In linear mechanics, the arms and hands do all the work, and shoving at the ball will turn hopeful prospects into ne'er-do-wells. Inversely, using rotational mechanics will create a poetic sweep of the bathead, picking up speed faster and faster and faster in its whirl...and the only thing you will feel conscious of doing is just turning elegantly. The difference between the two swings is as clear as the difference between prose and poetry; I'd choose the latter over the former anyday.

Your discovery has arrived; my enlightenment is still to come.

In short, congratulations on your discovery.

Cheers!
