Linear or Rotational?

To All,

I have put three little pictures for you to take a look at. They convey an image that some people teach. Quite a few of the good 13-14 year old's that we run into use similar technique. I can see some of this in the swing of Pujols, as an example. Is this linear, rotational or is ther not enough information?
