Re: Re: Switch hitting

Since I did not get a appropriate answer from the first responder, Can someone please tell me at what age should a boy start to practice switch hitting?

There are 2 boys on my sons team that switch hit, yes they are 10 year olds, so my son keeps bugging me about it, and I keep telling him he needs to perfect his right hand swing first.

Do boys swith hit in high school? If so, I assume they must have started at a younger age as I understand it takes a couple of years to perfect this.

Is there a good age to begin switch hitting?

He looked pretty good and actually hit a few nice shots, while the other boys displayed awkward swings and never touched the ball.

Switch-hitting is was too complicated for a 10 year old. Think of the pressure the kid is would be under trying to please his mom trying to do something most big leaguers can't do. Conisder that you may be too involved in what is supposed to be a game.
