When he comes up against a slow AAA pitcher he struggles due to being in front of the ball all of the time. Any suggestions on how I can help him better time the slow pitchers? He struggles when the speed is in the 55 to 65 mph range, but rips anything 70 or better. Thanks.

Wazoo. From what you have said, it sounds like he has trouble with offspeed pitches. And if he knows that a pitcher cannot throw the ball by him I would suggest the following or one of the following:

1. use a heavier bat and or longer bat
2. move up in the batters box
3. close his stance slightly
4. use a higher leg load or more dramatic inward turn
