Jack: grip pressure

Posted by: dougdinger () on Sat Aug 14 22:07:31 2004

Does the pressure in your hands/fingers affect the swing at all? Ted Williams recommends an extremely firm grip, but my hands feel to stiff and so does my swing. If I have a loose grip, the bat slips almost right out of my hands, where my top hand is touching the knob, and my bottom 2 finger of my bottom hand are off-like Moises Alou.
It feels more natural and more smooth if have a loose bottom hand, and a firmer top hand grip. Any thoughts Jack and all?
