choking in the game

Posted by: bgee (4mathes@xtn.net) on Wed Mar 21 04:55:18 2001

My 16 year old son is a great hitter with good mechanics in practice.
He has had lots of professional training and we have our own full size batting cage at home. I pitch to him a lot, he rips everything I throw at him, and I can throw pretty hard , I used to be a pitcher . But when he approaches the plate in a game you can tell that he just don't have the confidence he should and he doesn't seem to see the ball until it is right on him. I have to wonder if I am doing something wrong, Or maybe I shouldn't even pitch to him at all.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
