What they end up getting is a thesis, containing a multitude of points, concept's and, theories, that would boggle the mind's of this centuries greatest thinkers, never mind some poor stiff trying to help his kid hit a baseball.

John,

I agree somewhat, explanations do get lengthy and complicated. How would you explain hitting in words on the internet? How does one describe what is happening and what it feels like? If you are not actually working with the player how do you know what will work? What may work on one player may not work on another. I have to use different cues on my son then I do for some of my other players because they see and feel things differently. Words mean different things to different people. For instance I tell my son to keep his hands above the ball, this keeps him from dropping his rear forearm horizontal to the ground at initiation, but if I tell that to one of my other players he chops down on the ball. So when people here are describing what they think is correct IMO they are trying to be as thorough as possible.
