I think you need to be careful with your formula. F=ma, acceleration is not vv it is final velocity - initial velocity divided by the amount of time it took. I like what you are saying but for me I really like to think about holding the bat loose in my hands to really take advantage of that mass swinging around and not my arms and hands holding that mass. If the ratio of m:a is 1:1 you really need to evaluate if that extra couple of ounces is providing what you lose in bat head speed. Also think about bat speed right before contact vs. right after contact. Is that indicitive of acceleration? or loss of acceleration. Thanks for making me reevaluate my bat choice.
