inward turn

Mr. Mankin:
I have been practicing since I can remember using a slight inward turn as a trigger to start my swing. I recently attended a hitting school and my initial inward turn was labeled as a "hitch" that I should work to eliminate. What are your thoughts on this?
I would have to say that my swing is mostly rotational as described on your site and I have not had trouble hitting the ball so far. Is the inward turn holding me back?

ps. Thanks for a great site.
