Knob to the ball, if incorporated very early in the swing (like at toe touch) will enhance elbow-in-the-slot and for that matter it will facilitate the technique that I think you all refer to as top hand torque. <<<

I guess a person can place any interruption on a batting cue they want. But, when I ask a coach to demonstrate what he means by “knob at the ball,” they will invariably extend the bat a good foot while keeping the bat-head back.

I would say that if we want to use the “knob” as a cue, I think it might help the batter more if we told them to: “Keep the knob back and accelerate the bat-head around it.”
